And away he goes

Well, the time has come.  The Rooster has flown the coop... or rather United Airlines flew him there!  This previous week has been a whirlwind of last minute getting ready types of things.  It always is in cases like these I guess.  But the last day he was here there were a few things we had to do that I considered rather important
Of course the first, or rather last, most important thing we had to do was head to the coffee shop for one last cup of coffee and a pepperoni and cheddar croissant,
and then it was home to load his already packed bags into the car (the Rooster likes to be prepared, he had packed the night before),
We had to meet up with the Recruiter that has been taking care of all of this for us over in Riverton and so the kids and I had to amuse ourselves while some last minute things were checked and signed.  This is of course Ruby pretending to be a kitty in her bed, or kennel, or something.  I never really did figure that one out.
West was pretending to sleep on this incredibly long couch; notice the appendage hanging over the edge of the couch, that was his idea he thought it made the picture look more authentic!
Then we noticed the map on the wall and discussed things like where the Army might send us.  I am personally hoping for Italy (cross my fingers).

And then Ruby of course had to pretend sleeping on the couch, appendage and all.  Notice the length of that couch!

And then it was to the airport where we sat and waited forever and then waited a little longer and finally had to leave him there since we had to get back to buy dog food before the store closed.
I only found out later that the big ACU colored one laying on it's side got lost, not once, but twice!  Luckily it has been found on both occasions but basically his whole life right now is in that bag and having had it lost twice in the span of three days...?!
One more flight to go for him before he gets to the actual training part of all of this, let's all pray they don't lose that bag again!
I should know in the next few weeks to a month if I get to go to the great state of Texas with him for that part of this fun adventure!

  1. Those sleeping photos look very authentic to me. I am completely fooled into believing they are sleeping!
