How Perfect is this Location?

Our trip took us to Ft. Campbell, KY where Diana lives (the friend I know from Ft. Hood).  She lives in on-post housing and right out her back door is this great little playground area where the kids begged me everyday to go over and play on.  Some days I did not give in, but most days why not?  I mean really, it was right there!  It was so close it could have almost been in our back yard back home in Lander.  It wasn't very big but it had this great climbing thing on it that my kids scrambled all over every time we were out there.
(sorry for the picture quality, these were taken close to dark with my iPod, since my camera didn't fit in my bag)

At the Airport

For the past three weeks we have been out gallivanting the country!  We started our trip in Cheyenne, WY visiting the much loved Scarlett, and of course her mom and dad!  We were there for about three days before we headed on down to Denver, CO to fly out of the HUGE Denver International Airport.  If you will remember the last airport we were at was when we dropped the Rooster off and that airport would fit in the drop-off area our front of DIA.  Once we navigated the check-in and found our terminal we finally made it to the gate where our very own plane would be picking us up.

We managed to find a seat right by the windows so these two could watch the goings on down below us on the tarmac.

West was particularly interested in these crazy little carts that haul all the luggage around pulled by these little trucks.  If you look closely you can see one of the trucks attached to the cart on the far left.

We were there for quite awhile before we could get on so we spent our time wandering around the terminal and stopping to get a drink and a snack and pick up a few magazines for us all to read on our 2 hour flight.
But eventually we got to go through that little door that leads to this walk-way we had been looking at for 2 hours, and step onto our plane that would fly us across the country to go visit our friend I originally met at Ft Hood, TX when the Rooster was stationed there his first go-round with active duty.
Have I mentioned that Frontier Airlines gives out free warm chocolate chip cookies on their flights?!  That's enough to make me fly them again!

Heading out of Town!

Hey, wanted to let you all know the kids and I are headed on a trip to go do some visiting while the Rooster is away training.  See you all in a few weeks with lots of new pictures and fun stories to tell!

And away he goes

Well, the time has come.  The Rooster has flown the coop... or rather United Airlines flew him there!  This previous week has been a whirlwind of last minute getting ready types of things.  It always is in cases like these I guess.  But the last day he was here there were a few things we had to do that I considered rather important
Of course the first, or rather last, most important thing we had to do was head to the coffee shop for one last cup of coffee and a pepperoni and cheddar croissant,
and then it was home to load his already packed bags into the car (the Rooster likes to be prepared, he had packed the night before),
We had to meet up with the Recruiter that has been taking care of all of this for us over in Riverton and so the kids and I had to amuse ourselves while some last minute things were checked and signed.  This is of course Ruby pretending to be a kitty in her bed, or kennel, or something.  I never really did figure that one out.
West was pretending to sleep on this incredibly long couch; notice the appendage hanging over the edge of the couch, that was his idea he thought it made the picture look more authentic!
Then we noticed the map on the wall and discussed things like where the Army might send us.  I am personally hoping for Italy (cross my fingers).

And then Ruby of course had to pretend sleeping on the couch, appendage and all.  Notice the length of that couch!

And then it was to the airport where we sat and waited forever and then waited a little longer and finally had to leave him there since we had to get back to buy dog food before the store closed.
I only found out later that the big ACU colored one laying on it's side got lost, not once, but twice!  Luckily it has been found on both occasions but basically his whole life right now is in that bag and having had it lost twice in the span of three days...?!
One more flight to go for him before he gets to the actual training part of all of this, let's all pray they don't lose that bag again!
I should know in the next few weeks to a month if I get to go to the great state of Texas with him for that part of this fun adventure!
